The PTS Bush Knife was originally conceived as a light, durable, portable, and powerful chopping and carving tool for wilderness survival. It has gone through a few stages of development over the last decade, and we present its latest rendition for 2023!

–The semi-kukri geometry helps to reduce shock to the hand, while avoiding excess weight. It offers outstanding edge retention, while still retaining resilience to impact and flex.

–The overall length is short enough to fit in a shoulder-bag, daypack, or other every-day go-bag.

–The sturdy canvas phenolic handle is secured with two bolts, a flared tube, and adhesive, and is hand-filed to shape.

–The leather belt sheath gives excellent retention, with an easy draw. The leather is hot-dipped in beeswax for water-repellence.

–The belt loop is designed to be secure, but easily-removed or added to a pants-, tool-, or packframe-belt.

This sheath is available in both left-hand and right-hand versions. Right-handed users should seriously consider a left-handed sheath if they anticipate carrying the knife on the left side. The tip of the sheath hangs down aplenty, and a left-handed sheath is significantly less likely to interfere with sitting and other common activities, than a right-handed sheath on the left side, or vice versa. Likewise, left-handed individuals may prefer a right-handed sheath. Or, you may order an extra sheath, to have both options! 

“Scout-Carry” Sheath– a third sheath option is intended for horizontal carry. This comes with an option for vertical carry also, but without the quick-detachment from the belt. Pictured is a right-hand-horizontal (small of the back) / left-hand vertical sheath.

Unlike most of my handmade knives, these sheaths will fit all knives of this model quite dependably. (They do not fit the older style PTS knives that have no guard.)
