Nessmuk-style Sheath KnifeAs the name indicates, this knife is patterned after the drawing in George Washington Sears’ book, Woodcraft and Camping. This knife will perform the basic functions required for day-to-day living, and has advantages all its own–especially in food preparation. The saw steel in these blades is a high nickle alloy, similar to L6. It takes a very fine edge, is very resilient, and has outstanding wear resistance. A leather strop is particularly helpful in polishing off the very flexible “feather edge” that forms when sharpening this steel. |
